Mary, Queen of the Knights
Our
Lady,* Queen of the Knights,* bless all
the activities of our order.* Keep us
true to the pledge* to extend the
Kingship of thy Divine Son on earth.*
Through thine intercession,* win for us
the grace* ever to exemplify in our
public and private lives,* the virtues
which should characterize* those
specially dedicated* to the service of
the heavenly court.* Make us always
aware* that as your Knights* we are
constantly observed,* our faith judged*
and our order appreciated.* Accept, O
Mary,* this renewed pledge of fealty and
devotion* of thy servants,* the Knights
of Columbus. † Amen

Prayer for Council Meetings
Eternal Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
We offer this meeting of our council to You, and ask You to bless it with
Your wisdom and guidance.
We thank You for this opportunity to be together to grow in our love and
service of You, our church, our order, and of each other.
We ask You to enlighten our minds to know what is true and just, to
strengthen our wills to carry out faithfully what we come to see as our
duty.
May all of our thoughts, words and
actions be directed in making Your name
and Your love better known among mankind
for their growth in holiness, and for
their happiness here and in eternity.
† Amen

Load, make me an instrument of you peace.
Where their is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be
consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is dying that we are born to
eternal life. † Amen

Our Lady Of God Remedy
800
years ago Christians were being captured
and sold into slavery by the thousands,
and nobody knew what to do about it.
Then, in the year 1198, a man had an
idea. St. John of Matha founded the
Trinitarians to go to the slave markets,
buy the Christian slaves and set them
free. To carry out this plan, the
Trinitarians needed large amounts of
money. So, they placed their
fund-raising efforts under the patronage
of Mary. They were so successful at
that, over the centuries, the
Trinitarians were able to free thousands
and thousands of people and to return
them safely home. In gratitude for her
miraculous assistance, St. John of Matha
honored Mary with the title of "Our Lady
of Good Remedy." Devotion to Mary under
this ancient title is widely known in
Europe and Latin America, and the Church
celebrates her feast day on October 8.
Our Lady of Good Remedy is often
depicted as the Virgin Mary handing a
bag of money to St. John of Matha. When
in need - for whatever reason, but
especially where you have had difficulty
obtaining help - invoke the aid of Our
Lady of Good Remedy, and you will surely
experience the power of her
intercession.

Prayer for the Canonization of
Father Michael J. McGivney

God, our
Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you
called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of
Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their
neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son,
Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and
building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your
servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue
his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you
glorify your servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the
design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now
present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Our Father,
Hail Mary, Glory be.

Prayer for Life

Loving God, in Your Goodness, You have given us the gift of
life.
We ask Your pardon and forgiveness for our own failure and the
failure of all people in this world to protect and respect this gift you
have given us.
We pray that, with Your grace, we, and all people,
will respect, revere, and protect all life and that we will be
especially sensitive to the life of the unborn, the abused, the neglected,
the disabled, and the elderly.
Guide all who make decisions about life,
that they will do so with wisdom, love, and courage.
In Your name -
Father, Source of all life, Son, Savior of our lives, and Spirit,
Sanctifier of our lives - we pray. † Amen.
